A three bedroom detached cottage for sale close to Alvaiázere in central Portugal. The cottage, which is connected to mains water and electricity also has a telephone line installed. The cottage is set over one floor and is in a habitable condition though would benefit from some internal modernisation and decoration works.

The cottage, which has wooden windows and frames, has some internal wooden shutters. The property has a walled garden with some mature trees and a well.

The main entrance door leads directly into a living room which has a tiled floor. Off this living room there are three bedrooms, all with tiled floors. The kitchen, which does require some up dating, has a hand carved marble sink and drainer as well as access to the attic space.

The bathroom is partially tiled and has a bath with shower above, toilet, bidet and pedestal sink. The bathroom and kitchen are functional but would benefit from modernisation works. The attic space, which is currently being used for storage purposes, could with a little work, be converted into additional living accommodation if required.

The cottage has walled garden, which is situated to the side and rear. The land is all relatively flat and there are some mature fruit trees. There are vehicle entrance gates to the front and rear of the garden allowing access for garden machinery if required along with parking for cars. At the rear of the cottage there is an open fronted storage room with a corrugated metal roof.

The cottage is situated adjacent to a quiet, tarmac road which receives only local traffic. The closest town to the property is Alvaiázere in central Portugal. Alvaiázere has three small supermarkets, a pharmacy, cafes, hardware shops, agricultural merchants, a rural museum, municipal sports centre, library, council, shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, petrol station, health centre, sports centre, library and swimming pool and is within walking distance of the house.

 

The historic town of Tomar, which is famous for the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is around 25 minutes drive by car from the house. Tomar is a bustling town (though is holds a city status in Portugal) and has around 40,000 inhabitants. There is a train station, bus station, municipal sports centre, museums, art galleries, bowling alley, cinema, cafes, restaurants and a popular weekly market.

 

The closest airport to the farmhouse is located at Lisbon, which is approximately one and three quarter hours' drive. The property has good access links and the 110 Tomar to Coimbra road is a short drive away.
