The majority of the land is situated behind the house and is slightly sloping. There are some mature trees in situ as well as a detached storage building. There are neighbouring properties around the house and the closest cafe and shops to the property are situated in the town of Avelar, around five minutes drive from the property. Avelar has a variety of cafes, bars, shops and banks. The larger, market town of Ansiao, is around ten minutes drive from the house and has supermarkets, weekly market, shops, cafes, restaurants, schools, bus station and pharmacies as well as a health centre.

The closest airport to the property is situated at Porto, which is around one hour and 50 minutes by car. Porto airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
