A three bedroom detached cottage situated in a quiet location with 4,760 square metres of land and a ruined stone cottage for sale near Beco, central Portugal. The cottage is connected to both mains water and electricity, is in a basically habitable condition though does need some modernisation work carrying out.

The cottage is set over one floor, though has an attic, which is accessed externally. The main entrance to the cottage leads into the living room, which has a parquet wood floor and wooden ceiling. The living room is double aspect and has internal wooden shutters. Off the living room there is a hallway, which also has a parquet wooden floor. The hallway gives access to two bedrooms. The third bedroom is accessed off the living room. All of the bedrooms have parquet wood flooring, wooden ceilings and internal wooden shutters. The bathroom is also accessed off the hallway. The bathroom is partially tiled and has a bath with shower above, toilet and pedestal sink.

The kitchen is located to the rear of the cottage and is basic with only a stainless steel sink and drainer in situ. The kitchen does have an open fireplace though. Off the kitchen there is a dining room, which has an exterior access door leading out to the front of the cottage.

The attic is accessed via an external concrete staircase, which opens out onto a large, railed veranda with good views over the countryside. The attic has only been used for storage purposes, though could be converted into additional living space quite easily. The roof is wooden beamed and the floor to the attic is wooden.

Adjacent to the cottage is an older, stone building which is set over one floor. This cottage is not in a habitable condition though has been registered as a cottage and could be reconstructed. There is also another stone building on the land, which has been used for storage purposes.

The property is situated on a plot measuring 4,750 square metres, which is terraced and private. The property has a well with a large water storage tank for irrigating the land. There is a large amount of mature grape vines, mature olive, orange, walnut and peach trees on the land. The property has good countryside views and is in a very peaceful area though is not isolated.

The village of Beco, which has cafes, restaurant, mini-market and bakers is around five minutes by car (three kilometres). The larger town of Cabaços, which has mini-market, school, pharmacy, health centre, shops, bakers, cafes and restaurant, is only five kilometres drive from the property.

The historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is around 30 minutes by car. Tomar has a good variety of supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, schools, hospital, university, sports centres, historic monuments and pharmacies.

Castelo do Bode lake is also just a short three kilometre drive from the property. Castelo do Bode lake is Portugal's second largest reservoir and is a popular location for all kinds of water sport including fishing, sailing, swimming, canoeing, scuba diving and water skiing.

The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around two hours by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
