A two bedroom, detached cottage for sale near Tomar in Central Portugal. The cottage, which is connected to mains water and electricity, is situated on a plot measuring 440 square metres. The cottage is set over one floor and has some integral shutters. The cottage is situated on the edge of a small hamlet and has good views over the countryside, however it is a short drive from the historic town of Tomar in central Portugal. The cottage, which has aluminium framed windows and doors, is habitable but could benefit from some external decoration. The main entrance to the cottage is located at the side. There is part glazed exterior aluminium door which leads into a central hallway. This hallway has a tiled floor and runs the length of the cottage. Off the hallway there are two bedrooms, both of which have tiled floors. One of the bedrooms is double aspect. There is a kitchen with a corner fireplace and a tiled floor. The kitchen has a water heater installed and there is a sink unit in place, however there are no fixed units. There is an access hatch to the attic from the kitchen though no ladder or staircase is in place. The is a spacious living room, which also has a tiled floor. The living room also has an exterior access door, which leads out to the front of the property. There is a partially tiled bathroom, which has a bath with shower above, toilet, bidet and pedestal sink. There is an attic, which is currently used only as storage, however the attic does have a gable end window and it could be converted into extra living accommodation if required. The cottage is set on a plot measuring 440 square metres, which is all walled and fenced. There is a block built outbuilding within the garden which has a wooden beamed and corrugated sheet metal roof. There is a vehicle entrance gate and parking for up to one car to the side of the cottage. The garden is all relatively flat and there are a variety of mature fruit trees including orange, lemon, cherry and olive. The property also has a well, which has been capped for safety reasons. The cottage is located within a small hamlet of Beselga in Central Portugal. There are neighbouring properties opposite the cottage but the garden area is relatively private.
The historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is approximately 10 minutes drive from the cottage. Tomar is a popular and bustling town with a variety of supermarkets, health centres, hospital, schools, university, banks, pharmacies, builders' merchants, sports centres, bars, restaurants and cafes.
The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a quarter hours by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by several low cost airlines which operate scheduled flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries. |
