The property is situated
in a peaceful area but is easy to access and has good road links into
the nearby town of Tomar - famous for the UNESCO listed Convento do
Cristo constructed by the Knight Templars in the 12th century.
The property is situated
on a plot of land measuring 5,900 square metres. The majority of the
land is flat and there are some mature palms and fruit trees. The
property briefly comprises:
House: The house,
which is set over two floors, is fully double glazed and has a mixture
of traditional Portuguese shutters to the ground floor and modern
integral shutters to the first floor. The house is connected to mains
water and electricity. There is a large, triple aspect kitchen, which
has a tiled floor and partially tiled walls. The kitchen has a range of
built in base and eye level units with wooden and glazed doors. The work
surfaces are granite and there is a stainless steel sink and drainer.
The kitchen has a dining area large enough to accommodate a table of
eight. Off the kitchen there is a partially tiled pantry.
The living room, which
is double aspect, has a tiled floor and a corner fireplace. There is a
set of patio doors off the living room which lead out to a covered
terrace at the front of the house. There is a partially tiled bathroom
to the ground floor. This bathroom has a shower, toilet, bidet and
pedestal sink.
There are three double
bedrooms to the first floor, all of which have tiled floors. Two of
these bedrooms have built in wooden wardrobes. There is a family sized
bathroom which is fully tiled. This bathroom has a bath with shower
above, toilet, bidet and pedestal sink.
There is a large veranda
which is accessed off the hallway to the first floor. The veranda has a
tiled floor and has good, open views to the surrounding countryside. The
house also has an attic, which is currently being used for storage. The
attic has a concrete floor and two gable end windows allowing for easy
conversion into additional bedrooms if required.
At the rear of the house
there is a covered barbecue with paved dining area. The barbecue is
built in and a food preparation area with stainless steel sink and
drainer.
Cottage: The
cottage is set over one floor and is traditional in design. The cottage
does require a good degree of renovation and modernisation works, but
could be converted into a guest cottage or rental unit with a little
work. The cottage has been constructed in stone and has stone window and
door surrounds. The floors and ceilings in the cottage are wood and some
will need replacing.
The cottage has been
connected to electricity and water in the past, though these would need
attention. The cottage has two bedrooms, a living room with traditional
style fireplace, a kitchen though no bathroom is present at the moment.
The property is situated
in a privation position and is accessed via a gravel driveway. Although
there is a neighbouring property nearby it does not impede on the either
the house or the cottage's privacy. |
