A four bedroom detached house with land for sale close to Ferreira do Zêzere in Central Portugal. The house, which is set over two floors, is connected to mains water and electricity and has 5,550 square metres of land. The property has a detached garage and a wide variety of mature fruit trees including orange, lemon and olive. It is located within a rural location, with good views over the countryside, but is close to the historic town of Tomar. The house has been constructed in stone and rendered briefly comprises: Ground floor: The main entrance of the house is located to the front. There is a gated driveway with parking for up to three vehicles. There is a set of external steps which lead to the front door, which is covered by a portico. The front door, which is double opening leads into a hallway with a tiled floor. Off this hallway there is a double living room, which also has a tiled floor. The living room has a large, traditional style fireplace to one corner of the room. The kitchen diner is also double aspect and has a tiled floor and partially tiled walls. The kitchen has a selection of base and eye level wooden units, some with glazed doors. The kitchen and dining area is divided by a half wall, which could be removed if wanted. There is a second hallway, which runs the depth of the house. The staircase to the first floor is accessed off this second hallway. There are two double bedrooms to the ground floor, both of which are quite spacious and have good views over the countryside. There is a family sized bathroom, which is partially tiled to this floor. The bathroom has a bath with shower above, toilet, bidet and pedestal basin. First Floor: The staircase from the ground floor opens out onto a landing area, which has a tiled floor. Off this landing area there are two further bedrooms, both of which have tiled floors. One of the bedrooms has a set of patio doors which lead out to a terrace at the front of the house. This terrace has good, uninterrupted views over the countryside. There is also a second bathroom to this floor, which is fully tiled and has a shower cubicle, toilet and pedestal basin. To the exterior of the property there is an annex which comprises a living room with a tiled floor, a summer kitchen and a room for housing machinery. In addition to this annex there are kennels. There is a large patio area, which does require some work, to the side of the house. There is a garage can accommodate one large vehicle. At present the garage is open fronted, but it would be possible to install doors. The house is set on a plot measuring 5,500 square metres. There is a wide variety of fruit trees on the land including lemon, tangerine, orange, olive and fig. Although the property has been renovated it could benefit from some modernisation works. The house is located on the outskirts of the village of Chãos in central Portugal. Chãos has several cafe bars, a butchers, bakery, mini-market and monthly vegetable market.
The town of Ferreira do Zêzere is approximately 25 minutes drive from the property. Ferreira do Zêzere is a popular town and has supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, banks, schools, butchers, bakeries, bus station, builders merchants and municipal sports centre, is around 17 kilometres from the property.
The larger, historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO world heritage listed Convento do Cristo, is approximately 10 minutes drive from Chãos. Tomar is a popular town and has all modern day amenities including supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, library, schools, university, cinema, bowling alley, weekly market and a hospital.
The property is easy to locate and has good access links to the IC3 Tomar to Coimbra road. The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours' by car. |
