The cottage is set over one floor though does have a large attic space which has been used for storage. The cottage is set on a quiet road and has land to the rear, the majority of which is flat. There are some mature olive trees and a traditional, stone drying circle.

The cottage comprises six rooms all of which have wooden floors and ceilings though these all would need to be replaced. The window and door surrounds are stone. The cottage also has an attached storage building, which has been constructed in the same stone. This storage building is also in a bad state of repair.

The cottage is situated on the edge of the village of Chãos , near Ferreira do Zêzere. Chãos has several cafe bars, a butchers, bakery, mini-market and monthly vegetable market.

The town of Ferreira do Zêzere is approximately 25 minutes drive from the property. Ferreira do Zêzere is a popular town and has supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, banks, schools, butchers, bakeries, bus station, builders merchants and municipal sports centre, is around 17 kilometres from the property.

The larger, historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO world heritage listed Convento do Cristo, is approximately 10 minutes drive from Chãos. Tomar is a popular town and has all modern day amenities including supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, library, schools, university, cinema, bowling alley, weekly market and a hospital.

The property is easy to locate and has good access links to the IC3 Tomar to Coimbra road. The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours' by car.
