Two old cottages needing renovating for sale  near Ferreira do Zêzere in central Portugal. The cottages, which are set on a plot measuring approximately 900 square metres, are detached.

One of the cottages is habitable and is connected to mains water and electricity, however the second would require modernisation and renovation work. The property has a completely fenced garden and several stone outbuildings. The property briefly comprises:

Cottage One: This cottage, which is set over one floor, is connected to both mains water and electricity and has a telephone line installed. The cottage was constructed approximately 45 years ago. The roof, which is constructed using wooden beams, is in reasonably good condition. The windows are wooden and the external and internal doors are also made of wood. The main entrance door leads directly into the living room, which has a parquet floor. There are internal wood shutters. Off the living room there are two bedrooms, both with parquet flooring and internal wood shutters. To the rear of the cottage there is a good sized kitchen. Although the kitchen does have some base level units some updating maybe required. There is an external access door off the kitchen which leads into a porch at the rear of the cottage. The bathroom is accessed off the kitchen and has a toilet, sink and a shower.

Cottage Two: The second cottage is completely constructed in stone and is located to the rear of the first cottage. This cottage is also set over one floor and has five interconnecting room divisions, one of which has a large traditional style Portuguese chimney. The floors are wooden, however they would require replacing.

Outbuildings: There are several stone outbuildings which are located to the side and rear of the first cottage. These stone buildings, most of which are open fronted, were originally used for storage and housing animals. One of the outbuildings has a large water storage tank inside.

The property has around 900 square metres of land, which is all relatively flat. There are several mature fruit trees including orange and lemon. The property is ideal for someone looking for a permanent residence with the possibility of a rental income.

The cottages are located on the outskirts of the village of Chãos in central Portugal. Chãos has several cafe bars, a butchers, bakery, mini-market and monthly vegetable market.

The larger, historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO world heritage listed Convento do Cristo, is approximately 15 minute drive from Chãos. Tomar is a popular town and has all modern day amenities including supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, library, schools, university, cinema, bowling alley, weekly market and a hospital.

The town of Ferreira do Zêzere, which has supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, banks, schools, butchers, bakeries, bus station, builders merchants and municipal sports centre, is around 17 kilometres from the property. Ferreira is a popular town which has a weekly market and is close to Castelo do Bode lake, Portugal's second largest reservoir.

The property is easy to locate and has good access links to the IC3 Tomar to Coimbra road. The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours' by car.
