A two bedroom detached stone cottage in need of renovation work for sale near Ansião in central Portugal. The cottage, which is set over two floors, measures 108 square metres of construction and is set on a plot measuring 130 square metres. The cottage is connected to both mains water and electricity and has a septic tank for effluent disposal. The cottage is in a basically habitable condition though does need a good deal of work carrying out to repair certain aspects of the property. The property has a wooden beamed roof and wooden floors and ceilings, though some of these do need repairing or replacing. The cottage has 60 centimetre thick walls and wooden framed windows and doors. At present the living accommodation is set on the ground floor, though the first floor could be converted into additional bedrooms if required. The main entrance to the cottage leads into a spacious living room. Off this living room there is a bathroom, which is partially tiled. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, bidet and pedestal sink and is fairly modern. The kitchen is rustic though does have a central fireplace and a sink and drainer. The kitchen has an exterior access door which leads out to the side of the cottage and the property's patio garden. The bedrooms of the property are also accessed off the living room though both of these rooms do not have windows. Access to the first floor accommodation is via a narrow wooden staircase. The first floor is currently one open room, though could be divided to create more bedrooms if necessary. The property has a open fronted storage area to the side, which would be ideal as a exterior dining area. The plot on which the cottage is situated measures 130 square metres and is totally walled. There is a vehicle entrance gate allowing off street parking. The property does require renovation and modernisation work to be carried out though could be converted into a cosy holiday cottage quite easily. The cottage is set on a quiet road in the small hamlet of Cumeeira in central Portugal and as such there are neighbouring properties around. The property is around five minutes drive from the nearest cafe and restaurant and only a 10 minute drive from the larger towns of Ansiao and Avelar. Both Avelar and Ansiao has a good variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, supermarket and weekly market. The property is only around 30 minutes drive from the coast and the closest airport is situated at Porto, which is around one hour and 45 minutes drive. Porto airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries. |
