A five bedroom detached stone farmhouse with land for sale near Ferreira do Zęzere in central Portugal. The farmhouse, which is connected to both mains water and electricity, has many traditional features and is situated in a private location though is not isolated.

The property is set over two floors and has been constructed in stone. The property is detached though has a large covered storage space, which could be converted into additional living space.

Ground floor:

The main entrance to the ground floor of the property, which is through a double opening wooden door, leads into an open plan garage and adega (wine store). These rooms have a concrete floor. The garage part of the room has three single doors which lead out to the front of the property and would be ideal to be converted into a kitchen diner, leading out to the property's garden. There are also two large storage rooms within the house on this floor.

 

Accessed off the garage there is a rustic style kitchen with a large traditional fireplace, which is double aspect. Attached to the house there is a large, covered storage area, which has been constructed at a later date than the original house.

 

First Floor:

The original entrance to house is via a double stone staircase to the side of the house. This leads to a double opening wooden door. There is a central hallway, which has a wooden floor and ceiling. Off this hallway there are five bedrooms, all  of which have wooden floors and ceilings. Two of these bedrooms are double aspect. There is also a double aspect living room, which again has a wooden floor and ceiling. There is a kitchen to this floor, which is double aspect and can be accessed via a set of internal stairs from the ground floor kitchen. There is a pantry, which is located adjacent to the kitchen though at present can only be accessed via the hallway.

 

Attic.

Off the central hallway there is a central wooden staircase, which leads to the attic. The attic is currently only used for storage purposes. The attic has a wooden floor and a wooden beamed roof. The property does require a good deal of renovation work, but could be converted, without planning consent, into a large, and character bed and breakfast establishment within a popular tourist location.

 

The property is set on a plot measuring 600 square metres, which is all flat. The property is accessed via a gravel road and there is ample off street parking.

 

The property is situated in the small hamlet of Telhadas, near Ferreira do Zęzere in central Portugal. The property is around two kilometres from the nearest mini-market and cafe. The closest town to the property is situated at Ferreira do Zęzere, which is around 13 kilometres by car. Ferreira do Zęzere, which has banks, supermarkets, schools, butchers, bakers, restaurants, shops, cafes, builder merchants, local town council and municipal swimming pools, is only around nine kilometres drive from the property.

 

The historic town of Tomar, which has supermarkets, cafe bars, restaurants, a weekly market, castle, library, schools, doctors, hospital, bus and train stations, is around 20 minutes by car. Tomar is a popular and bustling town which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo - constructed by the Knight Templars' in the 12th century.

 

The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which takes around one and a half hours' by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by several low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
