A large ruin situated in a scenic valley with one hectare of land for sale near Figueiro dos Vinhos, central Portugal. The ruined house measures 118 square metres and has 9,970 square metres of land. The ruin is not connected to either mains water or electricity, though does have two water mines and a stream which runs through the land. The ruin is accessed via a dirt driveway (about 25 metres) off a gravel road (about 25 metres), which runs through the land. The property is not connected to mains electricity or water, though there is street lighting to the gravel road and the local council are currently installing water pipes along the road. The location of the property is unspoilt and in private valley which has great views. The ruin has some existing 'schist' stone walls and has been built into the rock face, though the roof has collapsed. There is a stone oven, which is still intact. The ruin is positioned in the centre of the land, which is partially terraced. At the base of the valley there is a stream, which is fed by a natural spring and flows all year round. There are three water storage tanks for holding water from the water mines. Adjacent to the stream there is a large flat, fertile area which has been used for growing vegetables in the past. One of the slopes of the land faces west and the other east. The majority of the land is low shrub, though there are some mature olive trees (50) as well as some pine, oak, bay and eucalyptus. The nearest neighbour to the property is one kilometre away. The property also receives good mobile phone signal. The closest town to the property is situated at Figueiro dos Vinhos, which is around three kilometres drive. Figueiro dos Vinhos has a variety of cafes, bars, restaurants, post office, town hall, schools, banks, builders merchants, pharmacies, shops and supermarkets as well as twice weekly markets. The river Zêzere is around two kilometres drive from the property and Foz do Alge is only two and a half kilometres. The property is easy to access and the dirt road is well maintained. The closest airport to the property is situated at Porto, which is around two hours drive. Porto airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries. |
