A two bedroom semi-detached cottage with barns for sale in Gondemaria in central Portugal. The cottage, which is set over one floor, is connected to mains water and electricity. The cottage is in a habitable condition though would benefit from some modernisation work. The cottage is set back from a quiet village road and has a walled garden to the front. The cottage has aluminium framed windows and doors with stone surrounds. The main entrance to the house leads directly into the living room. The living room has a wooden floor and ceiling and gives access to the kitchen, which has a large traditional style corner fireplace. The kitchen has a tiled floor and a wooden ceiling and an exterior access door which leads out to the rear of the cottage. There are two bedrooms, both of which are accessed off the living room. Both of these bedrooms have wooden floors and ceilings. There is a bathroom, which has a tiled floor, toilet, bidet, shower and pedestal sink. At the rear of the cottage there is a covered terrace area. To the side of the cottage there is a walled garden area, which has a metal vehicle entrance gate. The land at the side of the cottage is all relatively flat and private. There is a large detached barn, part of which is open fronted, to the side of the garden. This barn has a wooden beamed roof and has been constructed in red brick. There is a second barn behind the cottage. This barn also has a wooden beamed roof, though is not open sided. Both barns have dirt floors and have been used for storage purposes.
The property is situated in the village of Gondemaria in central Portugal. The village has a cafe bar and a small mini-market and there is a school within the village.
The larger town of Ourem, which has supermarkets, doctors, builders' merchants, banks, schools, shops, cafes and restaurants, is approximately eight kilometres away.
The historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is property is approximately 20 minutes drive from the cottage (16 kilometres). Tomar is a popular and bustling town with many restaurants, cafes, bars, university, schools, bus and train station, banks, health centres and museums.
The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours by car ( 137 kilometres). Lisbon airport is serviced by several low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries. |
