A four bedroom restored manor house with garden for sale in Macas Dona Maria, central Portugal. The manor house, which measures 500 square metres of construction, has recently been restored and retains many original features including hand painted tiles, stained glass windows and internal wood shutters.

The manor house situated within the town of Macas Dona Maria and is within walking distance of all amenities within the town, though is private.

The manor house offers spacious accommodation and though currently has four bedrooms, does have the space to make more if required. The manor house, due to it's central location within the town, is ideal for use as a bed and breakfast establishment.

The manor house is set over three floors and is accessed via a decorative entrance gate, complete with hand painted tiled freezes. The driveway at the front of the house is cobbled, using traditional marble sets and there is plenty of parking space as well as flower beds, mature fruit and olive trees and tiled bench seats.

The property was constructed in stone and has carved stone window and door surrounds. The property is double glazed throughout, though the features stained glass window to the front remains.

The main entrance to the house, double part glazed doors, leads into an entrance vestibule. This entrance vestibule has a traditional hand painted, mosaic tiled floor and partially tiled walls (hand painted). There is a wooden staircase within the entrance vestibule which leads to the first floor accommodation of the property.

There is also a second entrance to the house located adjacent to this, also with part glazed doors. This leads into a second entrance hallway with a tiled floor. Entrance property into the house is via a set of part glazed, double opening wooden doors.

This leads into a triple aspect sitting room, which has a tiled floor. There is a staircase off this sitting room which leads to the lower ground floor of the property. The staircase has stone faced steps and the walls are partially tiled using hand painted tiled.

Off this hallway, via a set of double opening, part glazed (stained glass) traditional wooden doors is a central hallway. This hallway has a wooden floor and provides access to the bedrooms and living space.

There is an en-suite bedroom accessed off this decorative hallway, via a set of double opening wooden doors. The en-suite bedroom is double aspect, has built in wooden wardrobes with sliding doors, a wooden floor and internal wooden shutters as well as a plaster moulded ceiling. The en-suite bathroom is partially tiled and has a shower, toilet and pedestal sink.

There is a second en-suite bedroom accessed off the hallway. This bedroom also has a wooden floor and plaster moulded ceiling. This en-suite bathroom also has a shower, toilet and a vanity basin with storage cupboard beneath.

There are two further bedrooms, both of which have wooden floors and plaster moulded ceilings. At the end of the hallway there is a second set of part glazed (stained glass) wooden doors, which give access to a second sitting room.

There is a family sized bathroom to this floor which is partially tiled. The bathroom is spacious and has a bath with shower above, toilet, bidet and vanity basin with storage cupboard beneath.

This sitting room has a wooden floor, partially tiled walls (hand painted) and a plaster moulded ceiling. The living room is single aspect though has part glazed doors and windows which look out onto a traditional style 'Marquise Sun Room'. This sun room is double aspect and also has hand painted tiles to the lower half of the walls. The sun room also has a tiled floor and good views over the garden and the countryside.

Adjacent to the living room is the kitchen. The kitchen has a tiled floor and tiled splash backs. There is a variety of built in base and eye level wooden units with granite work surfaces. The kitchen is spacious and still retains the original hand carved stone fireplace.

Off the kitchen there is a fully tiled storage room accessed via a set of part glazed wooden doors. The storage room can also be accessed via the Marquise sun room.

The lower ground floor of the property is accessed via stone faced staircase off the first sitting room. This leads into a large 'u-shaped' entertainment room, which has a tiled floor and a wooden beamed ceiling. This room has slot style windows to one side and there is a kitchenette area complete with built in base and eye level wooden units with granite work surface. The room is centred around what was the property's original wine cellar. This wine cellar has been restored and is complete with ceramic bottle holders. There is also an original stone carved sink in situ and a set of glazed patio doors which lead out to the property's garden. The garden is currently lawned with a marble cobbled path. The garden is set over two levels with stone steps from the lawned area down to a currently uncultivated area. The property is completely fenced and there is plenty of space for a swimming pool if required.

The property is situated in the centre of the town of Macas Dona Maria in central Portugal and is within walking distance of all amenities. Macas Dona Maria has several cafes, a restaurant, mini-market, pharmacy, petrol station, health centre, parish council and school.

The larger town of Alvaiazere, which has several supermarkets, schools, health centre, swimming pool and banks, is around 10 minutes drive from the property. The historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento de Cristo, is around 30-40 minutes drive from the property.

The closest airport to the property is situated at Porto, which is around two hours by car. Porto airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
