The lower ground floor of the property is accessed externally and has a basic style kitchen with some cabinetry installed, a large living room, partially tiled bathroom with bath and adega (wine store), which could be converted into a bedroom if required. There is a set of sliding patio doors within the kitchen, which lead out to a covered terrace at the rear of the house. The garage is situated adjacent (about 10 metres) from the house and is set over one floor. The garage also has a storage room for gardening equipment. Within the garden there are also additional storage buildings, which have been used for keeping animals. The property has a borehole and a large water storage tank (capable of holding 22,000lts) for irrigating the garden. There is a diverse mix of fruit trees in situ including orange, lemon, Nespera and Fig as well as a good variety of mature grape vines and shrubs. The land is gently sloping and fertile and there are good views of the countryside from the rear of the house. The property is situated close to the village of Olalhas, which has several cafes and a mini-market. The property does have neighbours but is private. The closest town to the property is situated at Ferreira do Zęzere, which is around ten minutes by car. Ferreira do Zęzere has a range of shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, banks, pharmacies, school, bakers, butcher, builders merchants and bus station. The larger, historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is around 20 minutes from the property. Tomar has a range of supermarkets, shops, restaurants, schools, libraries, sports centres and bus and train station as well as bowling alley and cinema. The property is also a short drive (two kilometres) drive from Castelo do Bode lake, Portugal's second largest reservoir and popular for all kinds of water sport activities. The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon which is around one and three quarter hours by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries. |
