There is also a wooden staircase which gives access to the cottage's attic. The attic has a wooden beamed roof and is in a reasonable condition for it's age but would require attention.
The property also has a variety of stone outbuildings which are in varying states of disrepair. The property has 3,000 square metres of land, some of which is situated around the cottage itself. The remainder of the land is situated on the opposite side of the country road and has a slight incline. There are some mature trees including olives.
The property is situated on the edge of the village of Areias, which has several cafe bars and a mini-market. The property has uninterrupted views across the valley and would make an ideal holiday home for someone looking to harvest grapes.
The historic town of Tomar, which has supermarkets, cafe bars, restaurants, a weekly market, castle, library, schools, doctors, hospital, bus and train stations, is around 20 minutes by car.
The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which takes around one and a half hours' by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries. |
