This beautiful property was fully restored around 10 years ago to a very high standard. It has double glazing throughout as well as a new roof. The bottom floor of the house is stone and the upper floor is brick built but with a double wall with some chunky insulation in the middle.
Upon arriving at the property we have parking for at least two cars. Directly to the side is the access to the property. Through the small iron gate we have access to the back balcony which has the most wonderful views over the hills. From here you can see as far as the eye can reach.
Now, going inside through the door to the side of the house, we are lead into the open space kitchen diner. The kitchen is a good size and has lots of storage and of course the kitchen sink is positioned so that you can gaze out while you wash your dishes. Continuing through, we go into the lounge section. Here there is a set of patio doors which lead out to the back terrace area. In the lounge there is a wood burner and there is also an air conditioning unit.
Also on this floor is a good sized bathroom and a bedroom. So, if need be, you could live on this floor without having to use downstairs. At the back of the lounge is the stairs going down to the ground floor. On the ground floor is the other two bedrooms which both have access out onto the porch. There is also a “Jack and Jill” bathroom on this level which both bedrooms have access to.
The property has various storage areas such as the loft which has plenty of room, this is accessed by a drop down ladder, and the hatch is in the living room.
The property’s land is fairly flat although it does have a few terraces. There are various fruit trees on the land as well as some olives. On the land there is also a good sized “man cave”/wood shed.
The house is only 5 minutes away from a very nice restaurant, café and minimarket.
The larger town of Alvaiázere is around 10-15 minutes drive from the property. Alvaiázere has several shops, cafes, banks, bars, supermarkets, health centre and schools. The historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is around 30 minutes drive from the property. Tomar also has supermarkets, shops, builders merchants, cafes, restaurants, health centres, schools, a weekly market and swimming pools.
The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which is around one and a three quarter hours’ drive by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
