This property is a great example of a traditional, Portuguese village house. It is located in the centre of the village, so it’s within walking distance to cafés, restaurants and minimarkets. The rare thing about this property given its positon is the fact that it has its own private garden with a barbecue area and it also has a garage.
If you put your car in the garage then you will go up the steps and then into the kitchen. If you leave your car in the other parking space that is not covered then you will come in through the back door which means that you don’t have to use any stairs.
Coming through the back door, we are lead into a hallway and to the left is where the old kitchen used to be. Further along the hallway we have a really good size living room with plenty of natural light. This space used to be two seperate rooms but were opened up to make them into one big room.
To the left is a door which is where the stairs are that go up to the first floor. Further along is a small pantry and then a bedroom. It is a good size but there is no natural light in this bedroom.

On this floor there is plenty of natural light as there are a good amount of windows. At the end of the hallway there is a door leading out to another terrace which has even better views as it’s higher than the other one.
Now to the outside of the house, there are various storage spaces and as mentioned earlier, a private garden with barbecue area which is very rare to get in the middle of a village.
The property is situated around 10 kms from Tomar and has various cafés and mini-market around.
Tomar has supermarkets, shops, builders merchants, cafes, restaurants, health centres, schools, a weekly market, swimming pools and historic Convento do Cristo and Castle constructed by the Knight Templars in the 12th century.
To Castelo de Bode Lake it is only around 20 minutes away. This lake is popular for all kinds of water sport activities including swimming, sailing, canoeing, scuba diving, wind surfing and water skiing. The lake is also a haven for wildlife and there are many river beaches close to the property, ideal for relaxing on sunny days at the water’s edge.
The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around one and a half hours’ drive from the cottage, though it is possible to utilize either train or bus for this journey. Lisbon airport is serviced by several low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
