This two bedroom, secluded but not isolated, very private property with land is nestled in a large valley with only a few neighbors but is also only a 10 minute drive to the cafe, bank, petrol station and supermarket including a post office.
The roof is fairly new, only around 3 years old. It’s ready to move into and consists of new floor tiles throughout and new double glazed windows and doors.
Upon arriving at the property, there is an automatic feeling of relaxation and tranquility. The location is in a way quite special, as the house is hidden away in its own private paradise. There is a large driveway which is plenty big enough to fit 3 cars at least.
There is a lovely porch area to the back where you can just imagine yourself spending your Summer days in the shade and even the rainy winter evenings still being able to enjoy the outdoors undercover.
When entering from the rear, we walk into the kitchen. The fitted kitchen is new along with its white goods such as a Zanussi electric hob and a Bosch oven also new pipework and some new electric points for the worktop. There is also a built in fireplace for further burner if required.
When entering from the front door into lounge which includes a new woodburner, there are then 2 bedrooms in total, one fits a kingsize bed, the other can be a spacious double room and is currently being used as an office.
The bathroom is a good size and has a walk in shower. It has a free standing sink, so there is still room for a cabinet there.
The property still has lots of potencial for expansion and there is still a good amount of personalisation that could be done on the property. To the back, beside the patio area, th re is a lean to building that the present owners had ideas of turning into a large conservatory with a bathroom. There is also scope to go up into the roof creating a king size bedroom suite with double doors onto a flat roof terrace (the lean to roof being lifted flat). This would entail putting stairs where the shower room is currently.
The property’s land wraps all around the house and spans over various flat patches and terraces. There is also a good water supply for irrigation as there are is a well on either end of the land. The land is full of established olive and fruit trees. There is a large concrete water tank which could be used as a dip pool once tiled internally.
There are a further 3 outhouses (1 was built as a garage) on the land which offer more space to expand with either further accommodation, workshop etc.
The property tax on this house is approximately 35 euros per annum and there is a good internet connection.
The house is located 4 km away from the village of Constância in Central Portugal. The village of Constancia, which is bounded on two sides by the Rivers Zezêre and Tagus, has several cafes, bars, restaurants, a post office, caravan site, library, observatory, supermarket, petrol station, bank and swimming pool.
The village is a popular destination for many tourists who enjoy strolling along the banks of the rivers.
The larger town of Abrantes, which has several supermarkets, builders’ merchants, shops,
bus and train station, health centre, schools and a river marina, is approximately 15 minutes by car from the village. The historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is also around 20 minutes’ drive from the house.
The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around an hours’ drive by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
