Great opportunity to buy a traditional 3 bed countryside house in a quite location very popular for overnight stay with pilgrims doing the Lisbon to Santiago da Compostela Camino, there’s a door to the side of the house providing access directly to the loft which could easily be converted into a double bedroom with en-suite. There are relatively minor things to finish or a little more if you decide to use the existing project (can be sent on request). This property is prematurely abandon project due to changes in personal circumstances.
About the Property
The property has good access, it’s approximately 1.500m from an A road.
Unfortunately detrimental to the marketing of the house, the main entrance from the cobbled road is part of the area that is in the project to be finished with a changed lay-out and new entrance door, through an extension area, there is an open plan lounge with an open fireplace which has been double walled with insulation and rendered, from this lounge it’s planned to have access to the new entrance reception and hallway, there’s an existing arch that connects the lounge to the kitchen, from the kitchen you also access the central hallway, which in turn provides access to the to the double aspect dining room on the left of the hallway, this dining room as a wide opening to a small conservatory area, which was going to become part of the new reception. From the central hallway to the right there’s a door that leads to a washing machine point under the staircase with private access from the outside to the loft area. From the hallway there’s the new bathroom with an Italian style wet room to the left, one airing wardrobe in the end and 3 bedrooms one of them also providing access via patio doors to the garden at the back.
The garden is flat and has various olive trees, a walnut tree, orange trees, a fig tree, a small vineyard at the end and is fenced all round.
About the Area
The property is situated near in the Portuguese trail of the Camino de Santiago close to the village of Cabacos, which has several cafes and a mini-market, health centre, banks, post office, butcher, petrol station, pet/agricultural supplies and builders’ yard. Each Monday, there is a small market in the village selling bread, fruit and vegetables, plants, shoes and clothing.

The historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, founded by the Templar’s crusaders is only 20 to 25 minutes drive from the property.
All major European high street shopping is also available in the city of Coimbra the 3rd biggest city in Portugal which is only 40 to 45 minutes drive on the A13 motorway.
