The cottage offers the opportunity to generate an income from holiday lets and provides extra accommodation for visiting family and friends. The only nearby property is another holiday cottage which the owners visit once a year.
The main house is entered via double metal gates into a good sized sunny courtyard with borders of pretty flowers and shrubs. External stairs lead to the main entrance on the first floor and into a hallway from which there is access to the kitchen/dining room and shower room. A glass door leads to a shaded veranda overlooking the courtyard. This has stunning views and is the perfect place to relax with a glass of the local vinho verde. A gate at the side of the house leads to a small garden and a lovely lilac tree which fills the air with perfume when in flower. Steps from the other side of the courtyard lead up to two terraces of land, perfect for growing fruit and vegetables or for fencing to accommodate chickens and goats.
Across the quiet country road is the cottage. Entry is via a gate into a small private courtyard. The cottage comprises of a kitchen/dining room, a bright lounge with a wood burner, a good sized bedroom and en suite bathroom with shower. There is also a storage room off the patio.
Both houses have electricity and mains water.
The pretty village of Campelo is about a 3 minute drive or a leisurely walk, and has a popular restaurant /bar, a post office and a community centre. There is also river swimming and an outdoor pool. The local towns of Castanheira de Pera (10 minutes) and Figueiro dos Vinhos (20 minutes) have all other essential amenities, (banks, pharmacies, a health centre, schools, supermarkets, petrol station, weekly market etc)
The university city of Coimbra with its beautiful architecture, river cruises, botanical gardens, museums, good restaurants and shopping malls is 40 minutes drive.
