Dornes is located on a peninsula in the Castelo do Bode lake.
The lake is formed by the Castelo do Bode dam, which is Portugal’s second largest reservoir. Castelo do Bode lake is popular for all kinds of water sport activities including water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, swimming, sailing, scuba diving and fishing. The picturesque village of Dornes is located on a peninsula in the Castelo do Bode, has two restaurants and cafés and pilgrims regularly visit the church and the surroundings.
The nearest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is approximately one hour and a half hours away by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of international airlines including some low cost ones, who provide regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries. The international airport of Porto is two and a half hours away. The historic town of Tomar is less half an hour away and has a train station
