On the ground floor, we have an open plan kitchen and dining/living room with a door both to the front and to the rear of the house. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a large bathroom with jacuzzi, toilet, hand wash basin with storage cupboard underneath, another storage cupboard under the window sill. Up front we have the light flooded dining room with large windows to the rear and to the side of the house. A wooden door opens to a small landing, where steps lead down to the ground on either side. From the kitchen there is both an arch and an access to the fully equipped kitchen with a good number of floor and wall cupboards and a granite work surface.
At the side of the kitchen, we have wooden stairs leading up to a large landing on the third floor, which is the newly built, well insulated attic space. To the right, a door opens to the very spacious bedroom with a large window offering wonderful views to the river and the surrounding green landscape.
There are air-con units throughout the house, and there are also radiators in the rooms supplied by water heated by a heat pump.
Located near to the house, we have a large garage and a fenced off space for safely keeping dogs.
The large plot of land is located to the rear of the house and consists of three large, flat terraces, safely supported by recently constructed cement retaining walls and some original stone retaining walls. On the lowest terrace, there are around 500 orange trees, supplied by an automatic irrigation system which is fed by an electric pump which is powered by solar panels and pumps water from the river. The pump is installed in a secure building on the shore of the river.

This bus takes you to Ferreira do Zêzere, on to Tomar and directly to Lisbon. Dornes is three minutes by car or a 15- 20 minute walk away.
Dornes sits on a peninsula within the Castelo do Bode lake, drinking water supply for Lisbon and surrounding towns. It is also a pilgrimage site for the veneration of the Holy Mother, and a popular place for water sports such as water skiing, canoeing, fishing and swimming. There are some holiday rental houses and guest houses as well as two cafés and two restaurants in Dornes.
The larger town of Ferreira do Zêzere, which has supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, banks, schools, bus station, tourist information office, builder’s merchants, butchers and bakers, is around 10 minutes´ drive from the property. From Ferreira do Zêzere there is also an express bus to Lisbon, besides the local one mentioned above.
The historic town of Tomar is around 25 minutes´ drive from the property. The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around one and three quarter hours by car.
