There are three bedrooms to this floor, all of which have parquet wooden floors. Two of the bedrooms have built in wardrobes. One of the bedrooms also has a set of patio doors leading out to the veranda at the side of the house. There is a fully tiled bathroom to this floor. This bathroom has a bath with shower above, toilet, bidet and pedestal sink. There is also a fully tiled WC with pedestal basin. Adjacent to the kitchen there is a large pantry with shelving.
Within the hallway there is an internal staircase which leads down to the ground floor of the property as well as a wooden staircase leading to the property's attic. The attic is currently used for storage, though could be converted into additional living space if required.
The ground floor of the house accommodates a large garage, with metal vehicle access doors. The garage has a concrete floor and is accessible internally. There is a partially tiled utility room on the ground floor as well as an office and a guest bedroom. In addition to this there is also a fully tiled bathroom.
The property is situated on a plot measuring 566 square metres, all of which is walled. There is ample parking space and a lawned area with some mature orange trees. The property has a borehole for irrigating the land and a large water storage tank. Although the property is in reasonably good condition it would benefit from some decoration work.
The house is located on the outskirts of the village of Rio do Moinhos (River of the Mills) where there are several cafe bars, a bakery, mini-market, post office, bar, restaurant and carpenters.
The larger town of Abrantes, which has several large supermarkets, schools, library, post office, health centre, river marina, banks, hospital, shops, cafe bars, restaurants, cinema and go-karting circuit, is approximately five minutes drive from the property. Abrantes also has a main line train station which goes to and from Lisbon. There is also a bus station which services the region and more national routes.
The cottage is a short drive from Castelo do Bode lake, Portugal's second largest reservoir, which is popular for all kinds of water sports. There is a nautical centre where it is possible to hire canoes, kayaks, speed boats and sail boats, approximately ten minutes drive from the cottage.
The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours' by car. |
