Tomar has a range of shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, art gallery, bowling alley, cinema, UNESCO listed Convent and newly refurbished riverfront as well as health centres, banks, schools and a university. It also has a bus and train station and good access links to Lisbon, where the closest airport is located.

Lisbon airport is around one hours' drive from the property and is serviced by several low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
