The cottage is set in the quiet village of Sao Joao Brita and does require a good deal of renovation work. The cottage has around 1,000 square metres of land and there is a well along with some mature trees. The main entrance to the cottage leads directly into a living room which has a wooden floor and ceiling. Off this living room there are two small bedrooms again with wooden floors and ceilings.

At the rear of the cottage there is a rustic style kitchen with a large fireplace. The bathroom is fully tiled and there is a shower, toilet, bidet and pedestal sink. The property has been constructed partially in stone with later parts of the house being of brick.

The property is detached and there are a variety of brick built outbuildings, which are in a bad state of repair. The property has around 1,000 square metres of land which is terraced. There are some mature grape vines and some mature trees.

The small village of Sao Joao Brita has a cafe bar and a small shop. The larger, market town of Ansião is around 10 minutes drive from the property.

Ansião has a selection of shops, restaurants, a supermarkets, bakers, butchers, library, schools, municipal sports centre and a weekly market.

Coimbra, Portugal's third city, is approximately half an hours drive from the property. Coimbra is home to Portugal's oldest university and is a popular destination for tourists. Coimbra has several large shopping centres, builders merchants, schools, train and bus stations and a large selection of Fado bars.

The closest airport to the property is located at Porto, which is approximately one and three quarter hours' by car. Porto airport is serviced by several low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom.
