A detached two bedroom house in need of modernisation for sale near Serta in central Portugal. The house, which is set over two floors, comes with another detached stone cottage, which is in bad state of repair and would require total renovation. The property measures a total of 400 square metres of construction and has land measuring 2,450 square metres. The property is situated in a quite location and has a wide variety of mature fruit and olive trees. The property is connected to mains electricity and water and although the main house is habitable could benefit from some internal and external modernisation. House: The house is set over two floors, however at present the living accommodation is situated on the first floor. The ground floor accommodation is currently used for storage purposes however could be converted quite easily with relatively simple renovation work. The main entrance to the house is at the side of the property and has traditional style, double opening wooden doors. This entrance leads directly into a living room, which has a wooden floor. Off this living room there is one bedroom, which has a wooden floor and ceiling. There is a second set of double opening wooden doors, which leads through to a central hallway, again with a wooden floor and ceiling. Access to the second bedroom is via this hallway. The second bedroom also has a wooden floor and ceiling. There is also a study room, which could be used as a third bedroom if required. The bathroom is partially tiled and has a shower, toilet, pedestal sink and a bidet. The kitchen is part tiled and has some built in counter tops with granite work surfaces. There is a double stainless steel sink and mixer tap in place as well as a space for a free standing cooker and hob with an extractor hood above. Off the kitchen there is a covered terrace with good views over the countryside. The terrace has an external staircase which leads to the garden and stone annex. Stone Annex: The stone annex is set over one floor and is detached from the main house. The annex building would require total renovation and modernisation work including the repair of the roof. The annex has a covered terrace with stone pillars which looks over the land. There is a traditional bread oven in situ. The property is situated on a plot of land measuring 2,450 square metres. The land is relatively flat, though does have a slightly sloping gradient. There is a variety of mature shrubs and trees in place including orange, olive and grape vines. The property is accessed via a gravel road, which is in a reasonable condition. There is a neighbouring property around 500 metres from the boundary but this does not affect the private and seclusion this property offers. The nearest town to the property is located at Serta, which is around 15 minutes drive. Sertã is situated in the Beira Baixa region of Portugal and has a variety of shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, parks, banks, schools and a weekly market.
Both Lisbon and Porto airports are around equal driving distances from the property taking around two and a half hours each. Both airports are serviced by several low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom. |
