The lower ground floor is accessed via an internal stone faced staircase, but can also be accessed externally from the rear of the house. The lower ground floor houses a large, integral garage, which has a tiled floor. The garage has an up and over electronic vehicle entry door as well as a personnel door. The property has a walled garden with some marble cobbled paths. There is a vehicle entry gate to the side of the house, which leads round to the garage entrance at the rear.

 

The property is located in Casal dos Frades, a suburb of Tomar in Central Portugal. Tomar is a popular town, which has all modern day amenities including supermarkets, shops, cafes, library, post office, health centres, schools, university, cinema, bowling alley, hospital, weekly market and banks.

 

Tomar is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, which was the headquarters of the Knight Templars during the 12th century. The area surrounding Tomar is popular with both Portuguese and foreigners alike for it's outstanding natural beauty. There are a plethora of forests, hills and lakes including Portugal's second largest reservoir, Castelo do Bode, which is 40 miles long.

 

Castelo do Bode lake is approximately 20 minutes drive from the property and is used for all kinds of water sports including sailing, fishing, swimming, scuba diving, sailing, water skiing and canoeing. There are several five star golf courses within an hours' drive of the property at Praia d'el Rey.

 

The villa is easy to locate and has good access links to the IC3 Tomar to Coimbra road as well as the A23, the east west dual carriageway across central Portugal.

 

The closest airport to the villa is located at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by several low-cost airlines which operate regular flights to and from the United Kingdom.
