The house, which dates back to 1919 has been partially restored retaining much of the original character and features of the property. The property is situated in Tomar and has uninterrupted views to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo and Castle of Tomar. The property has been constructed in stone and has stone window and door surrounds as well as a traditional style open sided portico to the front. The property is set over one floor and comes with 17,760 square metres of land as well as a second part finished house and large detached garage. The property is connected to mains water, electric and has a telephone line installed. The window are wooden framed and in good condition though some do require repainting. The property is set back from the road and there is a gravel 'in and out' driveway to the front. There is a gated parking area adjacent to the house and a driveway to the other side leading to a large, detached garage at the rear. The garage is set over one floor and has a timber framed roof and is large enough to park up to five or six vehicles. There is a large, folding metal vehicle access door to the front and windows to two of the facades. The house, which is set over one floor, briefly comprises. There is a portico to the front of the house with arched openings and a barrel vaulted ceiling. The main entrance leads into a hallway, which runs the depth of the house. This hallway has a wooden floor and decorative wooden ceiling and there are three windows providing light. Each of these windows have internal wooden shutters. Off the hallway there are three good sized bedrooms, all of which have wooden floors and decorative wooden ceilings as well as internal wooden shutters. Access to each of the bedrooms is via a set of double opening wooden doors with glazed panels above. There is a living room, which has traditional built in storage cupboards with glazed doors. The living room also has a wooden floor and ceiling. The kitchen is situated at the rear of the house and has a large, traditional fireplace in situ. The fireplace has decorative hand carved stone supports. The kitchen is functional however would benefit from updating. The kitchen has a tiled floor and decorative wooden ceiling. There are some base and eye level built in units as well as space for a dining table. There is a large walk in storage area off the kitchen, which is currently being used as a pantry, but could be converted into a laundry room. The bathroom is accessed off a secondary hallway off the first. The bathroom is partially tiled and spacious, though could benefit from some updating. The bathroom has a bath with shower fitment above, toilet, bidet and pedestal sink. The window from the bathroom has stunning views to the Convento do Cristo, which is walking distance from the property. There is a rear access door off the secondary hallway, which leads out to a covered storage area at the side of the house and a large courtyard parking area. A staircase leads to a large veranda which has good views to the Castle and Convento and the property's land. There is a snug/guest accommodation situated off this veranda. The snug has a part glazed door and exposed wooden beamed roof as well as a wooden floor. There is a cast iron log burner to one corner of this room. Access to the property's attics is via this snug and it is currently concealed behind a wardrobe. The property also has a second house, which is part finished. This house is set over two floors and has it's own driveway access. The house measures 185 square metres of construction and is not visible from the main house providing plenty of privacy for both. The second house has an entrance hallway which leads into a double height living room with access doors out to a covered terrace. There is a kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom in additional to a master suite, situated on the first floor. This second house also has a large storage room which has been used for agricultural purposes. At present the second house is not habitable and does require finishing (including installation of electrics, plumbing and final render), though would make a large, family home in itself. |
