A one storey rustic cottage for sale in Limeiras near Tomar, central Portugal. The cottage, which is semi-detached, does require renovation and modernisation work, but has been connected to mains electricity and water. The cottage, which is set on a plot measuring 840 square metres, is located in a peaceful area and has many mature trees including olives. The cottage has 50 centimetre thick walls, which are constructed in stone and rendered. The windows and frames are wooden and would need to be replaced. The roof has been constructed traditionally using eucalyptus timbers and although still watertight would require insulating. The cottage briefly comprises: The main entrance door leads into a living room. This living room has a wooden floor and is open to the rafters. Off the living room there are two bedrooms, both with wooden floors. There is a rustic style kitchen with a large traditional fireplace and original ceramic floor tiles. To the side of the cottage there is a covered, open fronted storage area which has been used for keeping logs and animal feed. There is a small courtyard garden here with a mature olive tree. The cottage has around 840 square metres of land, which is all relatively flat and has some mature trees. There is also a well. The cottage is located on the edge of the village of Limeiras in Central Portugal. Limeiras has several cafe bars and a restaurant as well as a mini market. There is a bus service into the neighbouring towns of Tomar and Abrantes.
The historic town of Tomar, which has builder's merchants, shops, cafe bars, architects, engineers and shops is approximately 10-15 minutes drive from the plot.
The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours' drive. Lisbon is serviced by several low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom. |
