An old stone house, which measures 97 square metres of construction, for sale close to the town of Vila de Rei in Central Portugal. The house, which is set over two floors, does require restoration and renovation work, but is situated in a peaceful area with good views.
The house is set on a plot measuring 436 square metres. To the front of the house there is a quiet road, while at the rear there is a private garden area. The house has been constructed in stone and has traditional 50 centimetre thick walls. The windows and frames are wooden and do require attention.
The ground floor of the property has traditionally been used for storage purposes, but could be converted into living accommodation quite easily. There are two exterior doors to the front of the house on the ground floor. There is an exterior staircase to the side of the house, which leads into the living accommodation on the first floor.
The floors and ceilings of the first floor of wooden and do require attention. The first floor has been divided in a variety of rooms, however due to the nature of the construction these internal walls could be altered quite easily. There are neighbouring properties adjacent and opposite to the house.
The house is situated near the town of Vila de Rei in Central Portugal. The town of Vila de Rei has cafe bars, restaurants, a supermarket, pharmacy and health centre. The larger town of Abrantes, which has builders merchants, wood yards, supermarkets, a hospital, shops, cafe bars and restaurants, is approximately 20 minutes away.
The world heritage town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is approximately 25 minutes by car. Tomar has a range of supermarkets as well as shops, art gallery, museums, bowling alley, restaurants, municipal sports centres and tennis clubs.
The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours drive. Lisbon airport is serviced by several low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom. |
