The current owners have renovated the house and outside areas over the past 7 years using a reputable local builder, keeping most of the original stone features and beautiful wooden staircases, they’ve done it with ultimate goal being relaxation and peaceful rest…they built a totally private sun-drenched alfresco event/party area, this was only possible due to this type of rural location, very important to mention as well that the road seen on the photos it’s a local extremely quite road. The house is surrounded by numerous natural hiking tracks with great scenery spots provided by the mountains and forest land in Central Portugal and around this area there are typical villages, mills, panoramic views, roman ruins, monuments, etc.
The main entrance to the house it’s approximately 6 meters recessed from the street protected by a lovely front garden which comes to life in the spring with lots of colorful flowers and cactus. From the main door to the left there’s the newly fitted bathroom, to the right there’s large double bedroom with a wardrobe. From here the hallway leads to the cozy central seating room which has a hot/cold air con unit and a wood burning salamander. From this room you can access via a stylish stained glass panel wooden door, a staircase that leads down to the large southwest facing lounge with large patio doors which in turn, leads out to the alfresco Portuguese cobbled patio area. Also from the central cozy seating room there’s a beautiful staircase leading up to the converted en-suite double bedroom, which also has storage on both sides. Finally, from the same central room you can access the kitchen and dining area via an iron gate that was installed to keep the pets away. The kitchen is fully fitted in a U shaped with natural granite worktops and a large thick natural wood plank table. From the kitchen you access the outside alfresco area. Before the steps there’s the original tiled bread oven, which was kept as a decorative item.
The large alfresco area, with large covered outside kitchen is traditionally cobbled and it’s the perfect area to entertain friends and family or just to see the stars go by at night, there you’ll be able enjoy lovely outdoor meals in totally private manner surrounded by the beautiful countryside views.
The huge garden it has been perfectly kept, it’s fully fenced and can be accessed through a gate in between the garage and the house, the access path has been made mud proof, with shallow wide steps traditionally cobbled, making it also a nice and effective feature. There are 2 wells, one with a pump which provides water for irrigation of all the fruit trees. The chicken pen is large with happy chickens providing lots of eggs. There’s a water tank that could possibly be converted to a plunge pool. The kennel is fully enclosed in an area just below the water tank. The plot is almost an acre and is relatively flat and could suit various uses, i.e. to keep a couple of horses.
