This beautifully renovated one-to-two bedroom stone house is located in a private location with no near neighbors. The house can be reached via a well-maintained track through the woods, directly from the N2 country road.

To the front of the house there is a good-sized courtyard with a herb garden, a storage annex building and a large covered terrace. This space is enclosed and is accessed by a metal door.

The house has three entrance doors on the ground floor. One door leads into a small entrance hall, from which to the left we have access to a bath room with tub, hand wash basin with storage underneath and toilet. To the right we enter a large den or living room, from which there are terracotta tiled stairs to the top floor. This room also has a door to the exterior. From this room there is access to the dining room, which also has a door to the exterior. There is a very efficient wood oven for cooking and heating in this room. From here we have the access to the rather large, fully equipped kitchen. Throughout the ground floor rooms, which are terracotta tiled, we have electric underfloor heating. The windows are wooden framed, single glazed, and the doors are solid wood.

Walking up the wooden stairs, we arrive in a large den or sitting room. To the right, we have a large bedroom with door to the exterior. The en-suite bathroom is divided, by having the toilet and the shower in two separate rooms. There is an air-con unit in the bedroom for both heating and cooling purposes. To the left, we enter another living room which has a small balcony overlooking the patio and the green countryside. There is a large wood burner in this room and it has a cathedral style ceiling. From this room we have a door to an office. Also here we find an air-con unit. This room can be used as a bedroom.

The floors on the first floor are wood. The wood is treated against woodworm. The windows are wooden framed, single glazed, and the doors are solid wood.

Next to the house there is a large covered terrace, which serves the owners as their summer living room and kitchen.  The annex on the opposite side of the patio has a sink, a washing machine and a tumble dryer and has been used as a guest room.

Outside of the patio area, we have a path with steps to the salt water pool area. The ideal place to chill on a hot summer day, or to enjoy a peaceful drink at sundown. There are many aromatic and decorative plants and bushes as well as some fruit trees around the house and plenty of space to have a vegetable garden to the side of the house. There are mature fruit trees such as orange, clementine, apples, figs, also walnuts and plenty of olive trees.

Water to both the house and the land is supplied by a deposit which is fed by an electric pump bringing water from a mine on the property with a pressure balloon. In addition, there is also a bore hole for irrigation purposes.

There is a solar panel on the house for hot water to the bathroom and kitchen with an electric boiler as backup.

There are a few large terraces for planting more trees and to establish more vegetable gardens.  Another part of the land consists of mixed forest and eucalyptus.

The nearest café/restaurant is only 1,3 km from the house, a 15 minute walk on the path through the woods.

Just 1,8 km from the house we have a wonderful river beach to enjoy on hot summer days, and there are plenty of paths to go on long walks with your starting point right at the property.

The property is a 10 minutes drive from the town of Pedrógão Grande. Here we have a larger supermarket, all kinds of shops, restaurants, banks, post offices, health center, dentists, a large weekly market, public swimming pool. There are several Express bus to both Porto and Lisbon per day.

Both the airports of Lisbon and Porto are a two hours drive by car from the property.
